Hard and Soft Landscaping

Landscape contracts comprise a mixture of both the hard and soft elements combined to achieve the client landscape architects requirements.

These may include the following:

  • Macadam surfacing
  • Block Paving
  • Hard Standing
  • PCC Paving
  • Play equipment installation
  • Skate ramps
  • BMX tracks
  • Construction of bespoke walls and specialised structures (Natural or art stone)
  • Drainage
  • Installation of Street Furniture including Street Lighting
  • Kerb Laying
  • Planting - trees, shrubs, roses and herbaceous perennials
  • Site clearance of existing features/plantings
  • Arboricultural Work
  • Water Features
  • Cultivation Work - Seeding and Turfing

The above works are carried out by an experienced in house team using up to date plant and equipment, and where required utilising laser technology to ensure the optimum accuracy is achieved. This level of accuracy is achieved by having in house expertise backed by the technology to carry out comprehensive site surveys to determining the exact requirements for each individual site. A full 'Design and Build' service available for planting works, if required.

CLS have been given the opportunity to construct 20 football pitches at Russell Foster Youth Academy in Tyne and Wear, 5 of which are full size pitches.

Manor Road Park - Scarborough

CLS were appointed contractors by Groundwork North Yorkshire on the Manor Road Park upgrade in Scarborough.  The work comprised the upgrade of an existing play area to create an exciting 8-13 years play area including the creation of mounds and 'headlands' with some concrete reinforced slopes and the installation of new play equipment with safety surfacing.  The new play area theme is based around natural and adventurous play and was funded partly through the Governments Playbuilder Programme.

The Dells - Scarborough

This contract for Groundwork North Yorkshire involved the breaking out and removal of an existing concrete footbridge and concrete culvert, excavation of the pond, regrading of the slope, creation of a new limestone footpath, bitmac works and grass seeding.
