Burn Valley Gardens is a green corridor which connects Hartlepool town centre to the wider countryside to the west of the town. It is a linear shaped park covering approx. 7.7ha which has developed either side of a stream (burn) running west to east through Hartlepool. The gardens feature extensive footpaths and cycleways as well as bowling greens and two play areas for young children, including a recently completed Playbuilder scheme.
The works involved the realignment of the watercourse and various improvements within Burn Valley Gardens. The scope of the works included :
