Middlesborough Borough Council
Ladgate Lane, Road Widening
This scheme was to widen one of the main roads into the busy town of Middlesbrough, that of Ladgate Lane.
The works comprised of the widening of the westbound carriageway on Ladgate Lane to the east side of Marton Road junction.
In the work to widen the carriage way new drainage, ducting, kerbing had to be constructed.
A new footpath to run adjacent to the newly widened Ladgate Lane was also constructed along with a new bus stop and shelter.
Once the road had been widened a specialist white lining team carried out the road markings as the CLS team installed the new road signage.
The planning and management of this scheme had to be both professional and meticulous. In this scheme CLS Landscape and Earthworks phased the works to allow two-way traffic flow to be maintained on all public and private roads and other ways affected by the Works including the accesses to all properties affected by the scheme.
Works were carried out late into the night to minimise disruption and also to bring the contract to a close ahead of schedule.
