Castle View Enterprise Academy – 3G Artificial Grass Football Pitch – Long Jump
CLS Sports have recently completed works at Castle View Enterprise Academy in Sunderland for Greenfields to construct a new 106.00 x 70.00m Community Football 3G Artificial Grass Football Pitch & Hard standing and Long Jump run up and Pit.
Castle View Enterprise Academy received a 54% grant from the Premier League and The FA Facilities Fund, which provides grants towards developing new grassroots football facilities.
The grant has enabled Castle View Enterprise Academy to provide both its pupils and the local community with a much needed world class training facility in the North Sunderland area. The new 3G facility will not only help develop the skills of talented footballers, it will also help increase participation levels in football from grassroots through to senior level.
The new facility comprises of a full sized 11-a-side 3G pitch which can be split into three playing areas suitable for small sided games and training sessions.
By providing more high-quality facilities, coupled with coaching at the approximate age group, the Premier League and The FA Facilities Fund aims to improve the experience for regular players as well as attracting new players to the game.
Mrs Janet Bridges (Principal) at the Castle View Enterprise Academy said: "We are thrilled to be able to offer our world class facility to our students and the wider community. The pitch is outstanding and we are very excited to see The Football Academy at Castle View Enterprise Academy develop into a major hub for Football development and coaching in the North East."
Once the site was cleared and the correct levels achieved a sports drainage system was installed prior to the construction of the pitch base. In order to achieve the high playing standards required of this scheme a FIFA 2 star system Greenfields Evolution XQ 60 synthetic carpet was laid.
In addition to the 3G pitch CLS sports installed the perimeter fencing, floodlighting and hard standing areas.
Football was not the only sport catered for in this scheme as a long jump run up and pit was also constructed adjacent to the 3G pitch.
