Brecon Athletics Track

Athletics Track Refurbishment

This project involved the refurbishment of the 8 lane, Brecon Athletics Track in Powys, Wales. 

We firstly began by thoroughly cleaning the existing track surfacing and event areas including the high jump D, pole vault run up, long and triple jump run ups, and the javelin run ups. 

After independent testing, there were several areas of the track base matt identified for repair. These areas were clearly marked, cut out and removed before a new track base mat surface was installed to the same specification as the existing system. 

A new textured structure spray coat was then applied to the existing track surface using red pigmented polyurethane binder mixed with red EPDM rubber granulate.  

To complete the project the track surface and events areas were then line marked to current UKA specifications using a two-part polyurethane paint.
