Athletics Track Refurbishment

CLS Sports were appointed to refurbish the existing athletic track by installing a new synthetic texture surfacing to the existing 6 lane track circuit, high jump D, pole vault run up, long/triple jump and javelin run ups.  

We firstly began by applying a herbicide treatment to the surface and then thoroughly cleaning all the existing track. 

After independent testing there were several areas of the base mat which required repair to ensure it UKA standards were achieved. This involved the removal of sections of the existing surface and the installation of a new 10mm in-situ rubber base mat to match the existing surface. 

Once cleaned and repaired, a new textured structure spray coat was then applied to the existing track surface and events areas using red pigmented polyurethane binder mixed with red EPDM rubber granulate.
