Athletics Track Refurbishment

This athletics track at Bangor University, which was originally opened in 1996, was previously run by Gwynedd Council until 2016. Degradation of the track had taken place due to high usage and minimal maintenance since its original installation, meaning it had reached the end of its lifespan. 

To bring the track back up to the standards we removed the existing track surfacing, refurbished the existing sand pits, refurbished the shot put and hammer cages, constructed new access footpaths and installed a full new porous track surface with new line markings.

The athletics track is now open all year around and used by university students, local athletics clubs, and Welsh Athletics. It is also used for regional school events and by local community groups.
